About Yamunotri Dham
Yamunotri is one of the four sacred pilgrimage sites in the Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand, India. It is dedicated to the goddess Yamuna, the second-most sacred river in India after the Ganges. Situated in Uttarakhand District of Uttarkashi.

Importance
Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River, which is considered a sacred river in Hinduism. The place is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, who is considered to be the daughter of Sun God and sister of Yama (God of Death). It is believed that bathing in Yamuna washes away the sins and protects the devotees from untimely death.
Yamunotri is the first stop in the Char Dham Yatra, which includes Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
Trekking
The trek to Yamunotri starts from Janki Chatti, a small town 6 km from the temple. The route is beautiful and passes through dense forests, waterfalls and rugged terrain.

Summer (May to June) ideal for pilgrimage and trekking.

By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, about 210 km away.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Dehradun or Rishikesh.
By Road: Accessible via well-connected roads to Janki Chatti, from where the trek begins.
